Additional U.S.S. Pueblo Crew Members Seek Settlement

U.S.S Pueblo Crew

Cooney & Conway attorney Kevin J. Conway was featured in a recent NPR story about the multi-million-dollar settlement crew members from the U.S.S. Pueblo received last year, as well as many others who never have received compensation. The Pueblo was attacked, and its crew taken hostage by North Korea after drifting in international waters in 1968.

Though crew members and their surviving families have never been able to collect the millions from North Korea that a judge ordered paid, Mr. Conway pursued an alternative source of compensation set up by Congress: a multi-billion dollar fund for United States victims of state-sponsored acts of terrorism.

Lawsuits are currently being filed on behalf of Pueblo crew members in attempt to receive compensation from North Korea for its responsibility in this harrowing ordeal.
