Matthew Jenkins graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a combined degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics in 2004, and he received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2007. Following law school, he worked for over a decade representing Plaintiffs in varied complex and high-profile personal injury, wrongful death, and commercial litigation claims, including automobile; commercial transportation; premises liability; construction negligence; product liability; medical/professional liability; civil rights; commercial disputes and mass torts. Mr. Jenkins has obtained multiple verdicts and settlements in excess of a million dollars.
In 2017, Mr. Jenkins co-founded a claims/case management technology and analytics company that created analytic models and software. The models and software successfully streamlined the claims process and ultimate claims/case payments to persons injured by the negligence of others. Mr. Jenkins worked with one of the premier Commercial Auto/Transportation Insurance Companies in the United States. He ultimately became President and COO, responsible for directing the company’s operations and financial outcomes. In 2021, Mr. Jenkins help lead a merger with one of the largest Specialty Insurance companies in the country, where he served as a President.
Mr. Jenkins joined Cooney & Conway in 2023 as a Partner, and he is excited to bring his varied and distinguished background in representing victims of negligence.
Mr. Jenkins is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (former Board of Managers); Chicago Bar Foundation (former Board of Managers); Illinois State Bar Association (former member of the Judicial Evaluation Committee); American Bar Association; Illinois Trial Association (former Board of Managers); and the American Association for Justice. He serves on the Board of Directors for Center for Disability and Elder Law (Past-President) and the Center for Conflict Resolution. He has been recognized, among others, as Top Lawyers Under Forty, Chicago Lawyer; Top Forty Lawyers Under Forty Nationally, National Trial Lawyers; Emerging Lawyer, Leading Lawyers; Distinguished Alumni Award, Chicago-Kent College of Law; Distinguished Alumni Award, Public Interest Law Initiative; and Rising Star Award, Chicago Bar Association.
